This week, North Mountain Park Nature Center generated Kilowatt-hours of electricity.From fossil-fueled sources, this amount of electricity would have emitted lbs of CO2 into the atmosphere.

This could power:

  • An electric toothbrush for
  • A 42" plasma-screen television for
  • A typical video game system for

Located in Ashland, the panels were installed on the roof of the pavilion at North Mountain Park just east of the Nature Center in October of 2005. The solar panels (or PV modules as they are called) collect solar energy, and a utility-interactive inverter converts the DC power from the PV array to standard AC power. The power is then synchronized with the city's electricity.
