This project originated in January of 2008 when Kirsten Woodsmith ('08 graduate) formed a committee of adult volunteers as part of her senior project to install a demo PV system at Anacortes High School. Even after she graduated and moved on to college, her well-written grant proposal was used by the committee to pursue local funding. The Northwest Clean Air Agency provided the majority of the financial support while community members (led by Eric Shen), teachers, and students, carried out the design and installation process in the summer of 2009.
