Today, Clark Columbia Vista (BEF) generated 1.6 Kilowatt-hours of electricity. From fossil-fueled sources, this amount of electricity would have emitted 2.3 lbs of CO2 into the atmosphere.

This could power:

  • An electric toothbrush for 6 weeks
  • A 42" plasma-screen television for 3 hours
  • A typical video game system for 3 days

The 2.1-kW roof-mounted PV installation at Columbia Vista provides power to the Company’s mill. This demonstration project is a direct result of the success of Clark Public Utilities' (CPU) green power program, Green Lights. The solar electric system was funded by revenues from this voluntary program, which allows utility customers to purchase non-polluting, renewable energy supplied by BEF.
