About the School:

As a Renewable School, Columbia River High School is demonstrating its commitment to sustainable living and a clean energy future. The school is generating renewable solar energy through their awarded 2.16-kilowatt photovoltaic (PV) system, and leveraging the system's performance data as an interactive, real-world educational tool to bring energy topics to life in their classrooms.

Energy monitoring awarded to the school connects the system's performance data the web-based Energy Exploration Center at Solar4RSchools.org, supporting students, educators and classrooms nationwide for studies in the science, engineering and performance of PV systems.

In 2010, Columbia River High School celebrated its new solar installation with a dedication ceremony. Educators within the school received a customized renewable energy teacher training, hands-on science kit materials to augment the school's existing curricula, and complete access to the resources available on the Solar4RSchools.org website.
