Today, Journeys School Wall-Mounted System generated 1.0 Kilowatt-hours of electricity. From
fossil-fueled sources, this amount of electricity would have emitted 1.4 lbs of
CO2 into the atmosphere.
This could power:
- An electric toothbrush for 3 weeks
- A 42" plasma-screen television for 2 hours
- A typical video game system for 2 days
Journeys School of Teton Science Schools had two systems before teaming up with Solar 4R Schools. One system was a wall-mounted grid-tied system and the other, pole-mounted, system was not grid tied. Solar 4R Schools helped grid-tie the second system as well as install data monitoring, weather station, and an anemometer. There are two web pages for the Journeys School of Teton Schools, one for the pole-mounted system and this page for the wall-mounted system.
Solar 4R Schools also provided the school with activity guides and science kits that will help teachers integrate renewable energy education into their curriculum.
