The City of Puyallup recognizes the importance of its leadership role in environmental stewardship. In partnership with the United States Department of Energy, the City of Puyallup has pursued another good resource management example for our community in this Solar Power Project. The funding for this project was made possible by a grant obtained from the Department of Energy’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program. This grant is part of the President’s American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. The Recovery Act is an effort to jumpstart our economy, create or save jobs and address the nation’s energy and environmental challenges. The City of Puyallup through its own example encourages energy conservation, proper recycling practices, pollution control and water / waste reduction conservation practices.
