Rosa Parks Elementary is the eighteenth project in Bonneville Environmental Foundation's Solar 4R Schools program. Rosa Parks' teachers will use the photovoltaic system to enhance their classes. An animated display screen located in the school's entry hallway details the live and historical performance of the 1.1 kilowatt system, visually depicts how solar electricity is generated, and describes the numerous other sustainable technologies available. The school, a model of efficient design, has received recognition as a LEED-Certified Green Building.
