Today, Sellwood Middle School generated 4.5 Kilowatt-hours of electricity. From fossil-fueled sources, this amount of electricity would have emitted 6.3 lbs of CO2 into the atmosphere.

Sellwood Middle School installed a 1.36 kilowatt PV system in July of 2009 thanks to support from the Northwest Environmental Defense Center. The program also included a middle school activity guide, science kit and an onsite teacher training.
