In April 2008, West Salem continued its renewable-energy trailblazing with the help of generous funding from Salem Electric, built a wind turbine on its campus rated at 1.8kW with a peak output of 2.4kW. To augment the benefit of West Salem's wind project, BEF has donated data monitoring hardware and provided teachers with additional learning tools that illustrate the benefits of wind energy.
