Today, Wilderness Charter School generated 2 Kilowatt-hours of electricity. From fossil-fueled sources, this amount of electricity would have emitted 3 lbs of CO2 into the atmosphere.

This could power:

  • A 42" plasma-screen television for 3 hours
  • A typical video game system for 3 days

The Wilderness Charter School is the third of BEF's Solar 4R Schools projects, and was the kick-off project for the Ashland Renewable Pioneers program. As part of this program (an ongoing partnership with the City of Ashland), current and future revenue generated by the sale of BEF Renewable Energy Certificates will offset the cost of the Wilderness Charter School's photovoltaic project.
