In 2016, Community School was selected by Idaho Power to become the next Renewable School in Bonneville Environmental Foundation’s (BEF) Solar 4R Schools program. Flathead Electric Co-op’s Solar Utility Network, or “SUN” project is Montana’s first Community Solar project! Completed in 2015, it is located on the North side of Kalispell next to FEC’s Stillwater Substation and is comprised of 356 Solar World Sunmodule Plus 285 watt panels. We are very proud that we utilized MT Solar’s multi-pole racking system, a made in Montana product. SMA Tripower inverters round out the system along with an SMA Cluster controller and Locus PV system monitoring.
