Midstate Electric Cooperative

Location:
La Pine, OR
Technology Type:
PV System Size:
7.00 - kilowatts

Midstate Electric Coop's administration building, completed in September of 2005, was the first LEED® certified building in Central Oregon and the first LEED® certified electric cooperative in the world.

Buildings seeking LEED® certification are evaluated in six categories: Sustainable Sites, Water Efficiency, Energy & Atmosphere, Materials & Resources, Indoor Environmental Quality, and Innovation & Design. The 7-kilowatt photovoltaic (PV) system that sits atop the building's parking structure is expected to supply 12 percent of the annual energy consumed on-site.... Read full project narrative >>

Groundwater Solar

Location:
Portland, OR
Technology Type:
PV System Size:
267.50 - kilowatts

In 2009 Portland, OR City Commissioner Randy Leonard flipped the switch on the city's largest operated solar array at that time. With over 1200 solar modules, the array is expected to produce 300,000 kWh of energy every year. The array was installed by EC Company and financed by a joint venture between the Bonneville Environmental Foundation and Sentry Financial. The project will offset the city's energy bills for the next decade and the city will have the option to take over ownership in the future. This project represents the commitment of the Portland city government and the community... Read full project narrative >>
