Over the 2009 summer, a 1.7 kilowatt demonstration solar panel was installed on school grounds. The demonstration panels come with interactive kiosks that displays live data about solar energy generation for all students, staff and visitors to see. Installation was spearheaded by Pine Middle School teacher Michael Ismari, who will receive curriculum support and training.
