This week, Pine Middle School generated Kilowatt-hours of electricity.From fossil-fueled sources, this amount of electricity would have emitted lbs of CO2 into the atmosphere.

This could power:

  • An electric toothbrush for
  • A 42" plasma-screen television for
  • A typical video game system for

Over the 2009 summer, a 1.7 kilowatt demonstration solar panel was installed on school grounds. The demonstration panels come with interactive kiosks that displays live data about solar energy generation for all students, staff and visitors to see. Installation was spearheaded by Pine Middle School teacher Michael Ismari, who will receive curriculum support and training.
